Content Creation, Branding & Design

Rwanda Ministry of Labour and Public Service in collaboration with the International Labour Organisation organized the 19th ILO Regional Seminar for Labour Practitioners. A 5-day seminar gathering 500 labour practitioners from different parts of Africa.

Challenge

  • Driving relevant people to register for the seminar
  • Creating a compelling brand  image for the event

Approach

  • To provide an in-depth understanding of decent work, we leveraged content curated from sources produced and suggested by the International Labour Organization. The curated content was restructured into the social media platform formats, tone and contextualised based on the selected theme “Promoting skills and productive (decent) jobs for our common better future”.
  • Created a versatile social media calendar: We began visually appealing teaser graphics to elicit attention from the audience. Later on, Well-designed info-packed social media cards were produced to keep people informed about the seminar overview calling people to register in due time. We blended information-rich content with soft and easy-to-consume engaging content. This helped keep readers and viewers interested in what would come next. 
  • To optimize content distribution, we captured keynotes from broadcast talk shows about the seminar and repurposed them into social media written and designed content to further engage our online target audience. 
  • Using messages from senior Government officials and high-profile leaders in ILO, we captured the attention of labour practitioners, policymakers and employers’ associations across the continent.
